Focus:
Review of 5th-grade concepts: Fractions, decimals, and basic geometry.
Introduction to 6th-grade topics: Ratios and proportions.
Daily Lessons:
Day 1: Fraction Frenzy
Objective: Review and practice adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions.
Activity: Create a treasure map where students solve fraction problems to find clues leading to the treasure.
Day 2: Decimal Detectives
Objective: Practice operations with decimals.
Activity: Solve a mystery by answering decimal problems that unlock clues to find a missing artifact.
Day 3: Geometry in the Pyramids
Objective: Review basic geometry concepts (shapes, area, and perimeter).
Activity: Design a blueprint for an Egyptian pyramid, calculating areas and perimeters of each section.
Day 4: Ratios in Ancient Recipes
Objective: Introduce and practice ratios and proportions.
Activity: Use ratios to adjust ancient recipes for making potions or meals. Scale ingredients up or down.
Day 5: Time Travel Math
Objective: Apply learned concepts through a time travel-themed escape room challenge.
Activity: Solve puzzles involving fractions, decimals, and ratios to "unlock" different historical eras.
